The jackpot is a jackpot (gambling jackpot or bonus) that is incremented each time the game is played but does not win the jackpot. When the progressive jackpot is won, the next played jackpot is reset to a predetermined value and resumes to increase under the same rule.

Many slot machines and video poker machines have jackpots. The jackpot will increase by a small amount each time you play the game. Multiple machines are often merged or linked together to create a larger jackpot that grows faster because more non-winning games can be counted. Many lottery tickets have jackpots. After each draw without winning the jackpot, a large amount of money is "carryed" to the jackpot for the next draw.
